My blog one year on...

So, I only ever look at this blog once every blue moon when I'm feeling creative. I first wanted to make a blog years ago but could never think of the style I wanted or what sort of posts I was going to do, so I put it off for a long time. Then one day I thought I'd give it a go. I wrote one really cringey post about a holiday I went on, left it at that for months and then deleted it. A year ago, I decided I still wanted to start my blog up so I wrote a '10 facts about me' post to sort of introduce myself and, surprise surprise, I left it at that and now a year later I am back!

I can't really say that I figured out what kind of blog I want yet but I really want to keep it up. So today is another get to know me post and the rest will hopefully take care of it self. (Although I still haven't quite figured out how to use Blogger!)

I have over three years of experience in the makeup and beauty industry where I've worked on a makeup counter and also as a freelance makeup artist. In this time I have completed a BTEC National Level 2 Diploma in Hair And Media Makeup gaining distinctions throughout, covering all aspects of makeup application, hair styling, beauty and client care. I have undergone various training with my previous employer; Boots, such as how to provide excellent customer service, No7 training, learning about all aspects of the brand, makeup application and skincare consultations. As well as this, I have three years experience in all mandatory training such as fire safety and data protection. More recently I have done makeup training with Kimberley Makeup Studios LTD to keep up to date with current trends. In addition to this, I have also recently gained a qualification in manicure and acrylic nails.

As you can see, I have worked really hard for the last few years to succeed in this industry as makeup is my passion. It feels amazing to be in a job that is also my biggest hobby and to make people feel more confident about themselves is pretty good.

 

I think my next post is definitely going to be something makeup inspired :)

10 Facts About Me | My first blog post

Seeing as though I first made this blog a year ago, I thought it was about time that I actually put a blog post on it. I have wanted to start a blog for a long time now and have but found it difficult to think of something that people would actually want to read. Eventually, I will get on to doing blog posts about beauty and makeup but for my first one, my boyfriend came up with the idea of '10 facts about me' .
 

One ~

My name is Kaya and my dream is to become a successful makeup artist and beauty blogger. I really love makeup but I never really knew what I wanted to do as a career so I did my A Levels and didn't enjoy them at all. I stuck them out and worked hard to get good results. All of my friends decided to go to university but it just didn't appeal to me, so I chose to do something I really enjoyed and that was makeup. I can't wait to be qualified in a few months and be able to start my career.

 

Two ~

 I'm terrified of insects; spiders and moths especially! If there is one in my bedroom, there is no way that I'd be getting to sleep.

 

Three ~

I love going out for food, but if I'm honest, the desert is always the bit I look forward to the most.

 

Four ~

I suffered from migraines a lot and they really got me down, so I tried to become more healthy and positive by joining the gym and drinking lots more water. It has definitely had an impact on me and I feel so much happier and healthier.

 

Five ~

The best holiday I've ever had was in Cuba with my boyfriend, my two best friends and my parents. We met some amazing people and I turned 18 over there and had an amazing day swimming with the dolphins, followed by a beach party with lots of alcohol!

 

Six ~

I'm quite the worrier...

 

Seven ~

I'm sooo clumsy. I could literally trip over fresh air.

 

Eight ~

I've broken every phone I've ever owned.. I dropped my last iPhone and smashed the screen, then dropped it down the toilet not long after. I got a new one after my contract ended and dropped that one down the toilet in the first month.

 

Nine ~

I love my boyfriend a lot! He is my rock. And my best friends are pretty amazing too; Lucy and Nathan. Don't know where I'd be without them all.

 

Ten ~

I have a Puggle called Poppy. She's a cross between a Pug and a Beagle, she is so cute and never leaves you alone. She will squeeze into any sized gap as long as she can be next to you and she can't look at you without giving you her paw to hold. She loves attention! Although she is 3, she is new to my family and we are still trying to teach her how to play with a ball or play with anything for that matter. She is also quite lazy.
